“I literally cannot say enough about Dr. Leslie and the never-ending support she provided me both during and after my most recent pregnancy. I struggled with a lot of lower back pain that became more exaggerated during pregnancy, and Dr. Leslie really made a difference in my daily living. With all of the other physical changes your body goes through during pregnancy, there is no way I would’ve gotten through it without her care.
I can honestly say that Dr. Leslie is one of the most compassionate providers I’ve ever had. After my daughter was born, she had a difficult time gaining weight. Breastfeeding was my ultimate goal as a mom, and Dr. Leslie helped me see through that and accomplish that goal. Imagine having a baby, and at 3 days old your pediatrician tells you that the endless hours of no sleep and painful attempts at breastfeeding isn’t enough. My pediatrician really wanted her to be supplemented with formula to help her gain weight and that was not something I wanted to do. I tried to explain that, but I was not heard. I was willing to do anything and everything before resorting to supplementing formula. During this time, Dr. Leslie knew I had delivered my daughter, and she went out of her way to ask ME how I was doing! That spoke volumes to me! After discussing what was going on with my daughter, Dr. Leslie gave me the breastfeeding support I needed. It was her that pointed out that my daughter may have “tongue tie.” Come to find out, that’s exactly why my daughter had so much trouble feeding. Dr. Leslie got that ball rolling for me. I mentioned it to my pediatrician and then we were sent to an ENT specialist.
Through all of the stress of beginning my breastfeeding journey, I really don’t know that I would’ve been successful without Dr. Leslie. She was the only person that I felt listened and cared about my goals. While my daughter still has not been able to latch correctly, I am so proud to say that at almost 6 months old, I am still breastfeeding! I am so fortunate that Dr. Leslie was there for me through my journey. She empowered me to accomplish my goal.
